Slaney Foods sales approach €200m

SLANEY FOODS achieved sales of close to €200 million in its last financial year as profits before tax rose to €3.7m, up from €2.6m a year earlier.

Slaney is one of the country’s largest meat processors and is controlled by businessman Bert Allen, employing a staff of 564.

Mr Allen and his brother Lance own 50% of the group, which has been expanding steadily since the brothers entered the meat business in 1970 when they bought a small business called the Slaney Meat Packing Company.
