The ISEQ index fell yesterday as inflation fears continue to worry the market. The Dublin Exchange closed down 20.10 points at 7343.01.

In the financial sector AIB outperformed its peers on the day adding 7c to €18.35. Bank of Ireland fell 8c to €13.92 after announcing a joint venture with Paul Capital Partners to offer private equity funds of funds products and advisory services to institutional and private investors.

In construction, CRH shed 11c to €25.10, while Kingspan dipped 6c to €12.92. Grafton added 1c on the day to close at €9.65. Elsewhere, Ryanair lost 5c closing at €7.15 after announcing a deal with Equity Insurance Group to offer car and home insurance to Ryanair customers. Elan jumped 32c to €13.20 on light trading volumes while C&C Group weakened by 3c to €6.62.
