Paisley hails Irish farm lobby group

THE powerful Irish farm lobby has a surprise admirer — Democratic Unionist Party leader Ian Paisley.

He told members of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists of Ireland in Bushmills, Co Antrim, last weekend, that he has many differences with the Republic.

But he said it is very keen on its agriculture and good at lobbying, as he saw in his years in the European Parliament. He said it is something the North could learn from the Republic.
