Irish firm to sell HIV tests in US

TRINITY BIOTECH has entered into an agreement to make the Uni-Gold Recombigen HIV test available to all Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates.

Uni-Gold is the only third-generation rapid test for the detection of HIV antibodies approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use with whole blood, plasma and serum specimens.

Under the terms of the agreement, Planned Parenthood Federation of America has committed to purchasing a minimum of 50,000 tests per year.
