Market slips back after gains

SHARES in Dublin declined again after Monday’s brief spell in the black. The ISEQ index tumbled 84.17 points to 7594.78.

AIB declined 36c to €18.45 while Bank of Ireland gave up 14c to €14.19 ahead of the publication of its final full year results. Anglo-Irish dropped 31c to €12.20 with Irish Life & Permanent also weaker, falling 30c on the day.

In construction, CRH shed 38c to €26.30 following press reports that Greek cement firm Titan is currently conducting due diligence on the 73.7% stake in Uniland not owned by CRH. Meanwhile, Grafton Group gave up 34c to €10.01, Kingspan closed at €13.15 while McInerney was 30c lower at €12.08.
