IFA urges farmers to shop around

FARMERS carrying out investment under the farm waste management scheme were urged by the IFA yesterday to shop around for a number of quotes from builders.

Rural Development Committee chairman Padraic Divilly said there are reports of farmers getting quotations with a wide variation of prices.

While the Department of Agriculture standard costings for the scheme are not yet finalised, the grant aid is payable on the actual or standard cost, whichever is the lowest.
