Rain, rain go away plead farmers

FARMERS are hoping for a dramatic improvement in the weather so that thousands of acres of flooded land can return to something near normal conditions.

Livestock owners have been forced to rescue marooned animals, transfer sheep to higher locations and bring cattle indoors.

Silage work has also been disrupted and bird habitats washed away.
