Newstalk to spread the word nationwide

NEWSTALK 106, the Dublin-based radio station backed by Denis O’Brien, is to go nationwide later this year.

The station was yesterday awarded a 10-year licence to operate on a ‘quasi-national’ basis by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland.

The station, which counts rugby pundit George Hook, Eamon Dunphy and Sean Moncrieff among its presenters, will officially launch in October.
