ISEQ slips back on quiet trading

THE ISEQ index lost ground yesterday, with the exchange falling 9.17 points to 7,987.75.

AIB shed 11c to €18.86 while Bank of Ireland added 5c to close at €14.75. Anglo Irish fell back slightly ahead of today’s interim results, down 5c to €13.75 and Irish Life & Permanent rose 6c to €20.85.

Kingspan confirmed to the market that it was in talks to buy Hytherm/Xtratherm. The stock fell 29c on the day to end trading at €13.62. Grafton fell 17c to €10.92.

Shareholders at Fyffes EGM yesterday, agreed to the demerger of its property business Blackrock and will start trading on May 15. The share price gained 1c to close at €2.05.

C&C Group said yesterday that profits reached €96m up 17% on last year and ended up 40c to €6.70.
