Market echoes European advances

THE ISEQ Index rebounded yesterday mirroring trends across other European and US bourses. The Dublin exchange climbed 67.74 points to 7961.02.

AIB climbed 10c to €18.85 while Bank of Ireland nudged up 3c to €14.70. Anglo-Irish jumped 23c to €13.55 while Irish Life & Permanent was down 25c to €20.55.

In construction, CRH recovered from previous day’s losses, adding 21c to €28.84. Kingspan surged ahead 53c following a report on the London office market showing an increase of 80% in office construction. Readymix strengthened 4c to €2.30.

Elsewhere, Ryanair gained 8c to €6.93 as April passenger numbers rose by 29%. Paddy Power gave up 4c to €14.05, Elan was 23c stronger at €11.55 while C&C added 1c to €6.30.
