Drilling programme off Cork coast

EXPLORATION company Island Oil and Gas announced yesterday that it has commenced its drilling programme for this year.

The company said that it had started drilling at its well at Seven Heads West off the Cork coast.

“Our decision to enter into long-term drilling contracts for 2006 and 2007 is paying dividends as rigs are currently becoming increasingly difficult to source,” said Island’s chief executive Paul Griffiths.
