GTECH Corporation in deal with Valista

Belmont, California: GTECH Corporation, the world’s leading lottery transaction processor, has selected Irish software provider Valista to provide technology to allow access to lotteries from their mobile phones.

Players will be able to pick their numbers, pay for their ticket and submit their numbers to the lottery using any mobile device. The platform will also allow players to receive notifications on their mobile device of winning results and whether they hold a winning ticket.

GTECH vice president Richard Koppel said: “mobilising the lottery in this way is revolutionary. Making it easier and faster for people to buy their tickets provides the lotteries with the opportunity to generate additional revenues from lottery ticket sales. For our customers, playing lottery over the mobile is a new way to play.”
