Select Hotels in funding call

Select Hotels of Ireland, Ireland’s largest hotel group comprising 15 four-star hotels around the country, last night called on Tourism Ireland to recognise the efforts of private marketing groups in promoting Ireland abroad by disbursing funds to assist their growth in the industry.

Speaking at the launch of the its annual directory Patricia Coughlan, founder and director of Select Hotels of Ireland, confirmed that Select Hotels and its members has spent €1.5million in marketing Ireland as a destination and employ 1,000 staff, yet receives no economic assistance from Ireland’s tourism body.
