Magnier, Fergie dispute in High Court

THE ongoing dispute between United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and John Magnier over the stud fees for racehorse Rock of Gibraltar was mentioned briefly in the High Court.

Neither were in Court No 7 of the High Court when a motion by Mr Magnier for particulars of Mr Ferguson’s claim was mentioned.

However, Mr Justice Kevin O’Higgins was told by counsel for Mr Magnier, Mr David Barniville BL, that the motion could be struck out with costs to Mr Magnier. The judge then struck out the motion.
