Auto pistol and €40,000 worth of drugs seized after garda car rammed in Wexford
After searching the vehicle, a .32 auto pistol, four rounds of ammunition and around €40,000 worth of controlled drugs, as well as cash worth over €8,000 was found.
An auto pistol was seized after a vehicle rammed a garda patrol car in Co Wexford.
Gardaí on patrol observed a vehicle at a roundabout in Scarawalsh in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The vehicle failed to stop when directed to do so and fled the scene, driving “erratically” towards Enniscorthy.
The driver then rammed the Garda patrol car.
The man, aged in his 30s, subsequently attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by Gardaí.
He was taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Following a search of the vehicle, Gardaí recovered a .32 auto pistol, four rounds of ammunition, controlled drugs with an estimated value of approximately €40,000, and more than €8,000 in cash.

The driver was later discharged from hospital and subsequently arrested.
He was taken to a Garda station in the division, where he is currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
“Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson added.
