Matalan job cuts

BUDGET clothing retailer Matalan will cut jobs to better tackle the spending slowdown in Britain, a company spokesperson said.

But the company gave no indication of how many jobs would go.

Many stores in Britain have complained of falling sales this year as consumer spending slows down sharply.
