Bypass decision needed soon: IBEC

THE Government needs to make a decision soon on a proposed €2 billion eastern bypass for Dublin, employers group IBEC said yesterday.

Enda Connellan, the chairman of the group’s transport council, said the bypass was a crucial missing link in Dublin’s infrastructure and was necessary to cut traffic jams in the city.

Traffic coming from the south would be granted faster access to Dublin Port and congestion would be eased on the northern section of the M50 ring.
