Oil prices fuel market decline

SHARES in Dublin fell, mirroring falls in Britain and Europe on oil price concerns. The ISEQ dropped 84.95 points to 7842.20 at the closing bell.

Oil prices fuel market decline

The banking stocks took a hit with the sector giving up 190.73 points overall. AIB and competitor Bank of Ireland both weakened, down 45c and 10c respectively on moderate volume. Anglo Irish also dipped, 16c lower at €12.91 while Irish Life and Permanent finished level at €19.90.

In construction, CRH fell 21c to €28.47 while Kingspan lost 9c to €12.91. A similar story in Grafton Group left the stock 4c lighter at €10.58. McInerney bucked the trend advancing 5c to €12.90.
