€2bn Christmas spend forecast

The Dublin City Business Association (DCBA), which represents retailers and other financial interests in the city centre, has projected that during the Christmas period 700,000 people will visit the city each day.

These consumers are projected to spend approximately €2 billion in cash and credit cards throughout the shopping period, November 2002 to January 2003, in the Dublin region.
