INDEPENDENT employer body ISME has condemned the existing pay bargaining structure under Social Partnership as “undemocratic, unrepresentative and insular.”

Calling for a “fresh approach”, it said the structure should include frontbench spokespersons, representatives of the ESRI, Central Bank and small business.

ISME boss Mark Fielding said the pay mechanism needed urgent review to make it acceptable to the broader business community which has been denied a voice in the pay talks.
