Sky customer growth drops

British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc, the pay-television business controlled by Rupert Murdoch, will offer free services by the end of 2004 after customer growth dropped to the slowest pace in more than two years.

Chief executive James Murdoch is targeting eight million subscribers by the end of 2005.
