VW to bring back Microbus

Volkswagen AG, Europe’s largest car-maker, will build a revived version of its Microbus in 2007 as the maker of the Beetle tries to attract buyers with another retro-styled vehicle.

Volkswagen has changed the van’s design to match the tastes of consumers worldwide, the company said. The Microbus will be built at the car-maker’s main commercial vehicle factory in Hanover, Germany.

The project ensures new jobs there under an agreement to hire 5,000 people at German plants.
