A scheme to address wider access to the countryside was launched yesterday by the IFA.
Plans to open access to countryside

The aim is to enhance the tourism potential of rural regions and boost their economic development, while at the same time ensuring that the legitimate interests of farmers are recognised.

Under the Countryside Walkways Management Scheme (CWMS), it is proposed to create either linear walks or shorter looped walks in the countryside by agreement with landowners.
