Proposal for new cargo service

THE Irish Exporters Association (IEA) is in talks with a group of former Aer Lingus and Ryanair cargo executives aimed at setting up a dedicated cargo service from Cork to the continent.

Proposal for new cargo service

IEA chief executive John Whelan said the proposed new service would allow exporters in the Cork region to transport goods by air from Cork to Luxembourg, where it would link in with the cargo network operated by Luxembourg-based freight carrier Cargolux.

The IEA will talk to exporters in Cork to establish the potential demand for the service and will also lobby the government to provide assistance.
