Firms eye GCapMedia swoop

PRIVATE equity firms were said to have GCap Media in their sights following the radio group’s shock change in strategy last week.

Reports listed Cinven and CVC among potential suitors for GCap, which is planning to sacrifice millions of pounds in advertising revenues to boost audience figures.

GCap promised flagship London station Capital FM will not play more than two advertisements in a row after answering a plea from listeners.
