ONE of the country’s top barristers Dermot Gleeson takes over as chairman of AIB this month.

Gleeson to succeed Quinn as AIB chairman

He succeeds Lochlann Quinn with effect from the conclusion of the next board meeting, on October 14, 2003. Mr Quinn will also retire as a director on that date.

Mr Gleeson joined the board on May 16, 2000. He was appointed deputy chairman with effect from October 8, 2002 and named to succeed Mr Quinn as chairman. Mr Quinn joined the board on May 8, 1995 and has served as chairman since January 1, 1997.
