Regulator issues investor warning

THE Financial Regulator has published a warning notice on Woods & Sheldon (USA). The regulator said the firm is not authorised as an investment business firm in Ireland and has been offering investment advice and/or investment business services to the Irish public.

It is a criminal offence for an investment firm to operate in Ireland unless it has authorisation from the regulator. Clients of unauthorised firms are not eligible for the Investor Compensation Scheme.
