Chamber of Commerce talks on jobs and development
The seminar, entitled "Moving Cork Further Along" and organised in association with the Irish Institute of Bankers will also address the opportunities provided by the city's designation as European Capital of Culture in 2005.
The seminar is primarily aimed at businesses including property owners and developers, retailers, construction companies, architects, engineers, planners, the hospitality sector and community and local authority representatives.
Chamber President Robin O'Sullivan said: "the Chamber is pleased to be working again with the Institute of Bankers to highlight economic development opportunities and employment in Cork.
"Our keynote speaker is Mr Eoin O'Driscoll, Managing Director, Aderra and author of the Enterprise Report for the Government launched recently and he will examine how the results of this report can be applied to Cork and its future.
"Ms Mary Buckley, Area Director South, IDA Ireland will address the success of FDI in the knowledge economy. Mr Joe Gantly, Chairman Designate, Cork Airport Company will examine the significance of air access to regional development, and the seminar will conclude with a presentation from Mr Gerry Wycherley, Managing Director, Templeford Ltd, on tourism opportunities in the Cork region from a development prospective," he added.
The seminar, sponsored by AIB and Goodbody Stockbrokers, will be held on Wednesday, October 13.
