EBS scoops top award

BUILDING society EBS scooped the best mortgage provider title at the 12th annual MoneyMate and Investor Magazine awards ceremony, which took place in Dublin yesterday.

Bank of Ireland subsidiary New Ireland, Irish Life and Montgomery Oppenheim picked up awards for their pension fund activities, while Friends First was named best property investment company.

Derek Quinlan of Quinlan Private, which was behind a number of high-profile property deals in Britain, won the investment personality of the year category. Merrion Capital’s Seamus Murphy was named best analyst.
