INM serve notice to regional staff

INDEPENDENT NEWS & MEDIA is understood to have issued employees at its regional newspaper titles with protective notice - the latest development in the ongoing regional press pensions dispute.

INM is the second largest player in the regional newspaper sector. Its titles include The Carlow People, The Wexford People and The Kerryman.

A meeting of the NUJ Irish executive council was scheduled for last night to consider the scrapping of the planned three-day strike action by regional newspaper journalists.
