Financials lead market higher

SHARES in the Irish market finished on a high with the ISEQ adding 30.28 points to close at 5640.61.

Financials lead market higher

The financials were back in favour from Thursdays losses with Bank of Ireland looking strong on €10.90, advancing 5c with €3.2m shares traded. Anglo-Irish was the leading bank with a jump of 45c to €15.20, Irish Life & Permanent were also positive on €13.11, edging 11c. AIB shed 4c to €13.46 on account of some profit taking.

Irish Drug-maker Elan were up 5c to €18.95.

Elsewhere Budget Carrier Ryanair were trading flat on €4.05, up 3c. Food Group IAWS finished at €10.20, 20c better, while Glanbia dropped 5c to €2.55.
