Banana company slip in turnover

FYFFES will report a drop in turnover to €1.72 billion for 2002, according to the forecasts of one analyst. This marks a slip from €1.955 billion last year.

The banana company is due to report its full-year earnings next year and the market will be looking for guidance on the renewed speculation of a buyout of rival Chiquita.

Consensus estimates are forecasting earnings before interest, tax and depreciation of €74.3 million with net profit of €40 million.
