Market decline led by financials

THE ISEQ Index closed down mirroring losses across European bourses. The Dublin exchange weakened by 11.68 points to 7533.57.

The financial sector was the major contributor to the fall as AIB shed 10c to end the day at €18.15. Bank of Ireland was up 4c to €13.65 while Anglo Irish slipped 22c to €12.78. Irish Life & Permanent added 30c to close at €17.30.

CRH’s share price declined 8c to €25.72 while Grafton climbed 10c to €9.45. Independent News & Media continued its steady rise closing 4c higher at €2.74.
