Meteor’s 88,000 new customers

MOBILE operator Meteor added 88,000 new customers in the last three months of 2004, bringing its total subscriber base to nearly 340,000, its American parent said yesterday.

This allowed it to bring its market share to nearly 9%. Main players Vodafone and O2 had 1.9 million and 1.5 million customers respectively at the end of December. O2 added 91,000 customers during the crucial pre-Christmas period, while Vodafone signed up 39,000.
