Vodafone appoints new Irish chief

Mobile operator Vodafone has appointed Teresa Elder as chief executive of its Irish operations.

Ms Elder, 43, previously held senior positions with American communications giants AT&T and AirTouch, the mobile phone business that merged with Vodafone in 1995.

She succeeds Paul Donovan, who recently took charge of the group’s European division, which comprises all Vodafone operations outside Britain.
