Tanzi was arrested and imprisoned on December 27 after Italy’s largest dairy filed for bankruptcy after admitting that a $4.9 billion bank account didn’t exist.
He has been in jail in the cities of Milan and Parma, Italy ever since.
Former Parmalat Chief Financial Officers Fausto Tonna and Luciano del Soldato were also given house arrest, news agency Ansa reported.
