Ex-Commissioner joins Irish Life

Mortgage lender and life assurance company Irish Life & Permanent has appointed former EU Commissioner and Attorney General David Byrne as a non-executive director.

Company chairman Gillian Bowler said Mr Byrne would bring considerable experience to the group.

“David’s EU Commissioner role with responsibility for consumer protection and his wide legal background will be invaluable to the Group and I look forward to his contribution to the work of the Board,” she said.
