ISEQ struggles for second day

SHARES in Dublin fell for a second day yesterday. The ISEQ was in the red for most of the day's trading and finished 25.41 points lower at 5415.87.

The main financials were weaker, subject to profit taking. Despite the announcement of solid results from M&T Bank, AIB slipped 6c to €12.37 though on modest trading volumes. Bank of Ireland dropped 21c to €10.59, while Anglo-Irish eased 1c to €12.93. Irish Life & Permanent gave up 32c to close at €12.65.

Construction giant CRH added 15c to €18.10 with 1.28 million shares traded. Grafton Group was 6c stronger while Kingspan nudged ahead a cent to €4.84. Abbey, which is due to release results tomorrow, added 8c to €8.95. Kerry Group dropped 5c to €17.00, while C&C slipped to €2.64. Ryanair added 6c to €4.69.
