Motorola to cut 1,000 jobs

Motorola Inc, the world’s second-largest maker of mobile phones, said it will cut 1,000 jobs and take a charge of $50 million for severance benefits.

The affected workers are located around the world, including at the company’s headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, spokeswoman Jennifer Weyrauch said in an interview.
