Baugur to buy jewellery chain

ICELANDIC investment group Baugur is this week expected to acquire jewellery chain Mappin & Webb for £30 million (€44.5m).

The group is understood to be in advanced negotiations to buy MW Group, which includes the Mappin & Webb and Watches of Switzerland stores, from private equity firm European Acquisition Capital which holds a 75% stake in it.
