Software senior new Esat BT chief

Telecom provider Esat BT has appointed Mike Maloney as its new chief operating officer.

Mr Maloney previously held senior positions with computer giants Gateway and Digital and joins Esat BT from EuroCommerce, a software services company.

Esat BT chief executive Bill Murphy said, “I am very pleased that Mike will be joining us. His depth of experience on both a national and international level will greatly enhance our capability as a major IT and network services player in the Irish market.’

Mr Maloney is a brother of former Esat Digifone chief executive Barry.
