Financials boost for market

SHARES in the Irish market rose on the back of the financials. The ISEQ firmed 19.74 points to 7616.05 at the closing bell.

AIB finished up at €18.54 with a 16c rise in its share price. Bank of Ireland jumped to €14.40 gaining 15c on the day. Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent were unchanged closing at €13.02 and €17.40.

In construction, Grafton Group climbed 5c closing at €9.40. Kingspan Group dropped 2c to €11.76 and CRH remained the same at €26.45.
