THE Dublin market closed 37.69 points lower yesterday, at 4150.61.

Financials perform poorly

The financial shares performed poorly again. IFG Group dropped 30c to 90c following disappointing interim results.

Irish Life & Permanent followed suit, falling 23c to 11.95, while Bank of Ireland lost 18c to 10.72. Anglo Irish Bank slipped 6c to 6.10, with First Active static at 4.90. Allied Irish Bank bucked the negative trend, rising 2c to 12.20. The financial index finished 74.95 points lower at 8158.26.
