POSITIVE news on the jobs front continued over the weekend when the Irish Management Institute said firms hired more managers towards the end of last year.

The management research body said the number of vacant positions at managerial level rose by 2.5% in the last three months of the year. The quarter ended in

December saw a total of 2,035 managers jobs advertised, representing 29% of all management positions advertised during the year. “These findings are supportive of recent predictions for strong recruitment and employment growth trends in 2005,” said the IMI.
