ISEQ Index drops by 65.72 points

SHARES in Dublin continued to decline due to profit taking among the heavyweights. The ISEQ Index decreased by 65.72 points to close at 7467.85.

Leading bank AIB fell 30c to €17.85 with over two million shares traded. Rival Bank of Ireland also weakened, shedding 15c. It finished on the day at €13.50. Irish Life & Permanent lost 15c following release of the Pensions Board review which suggested that SSIA style pensions and mandatory cover could be in the pipeline.

The Construction sector also contributed to the day’s losses. CRH was 22c lower at the closing bell. Kingspan finished at €11.07 suffering a 12c decline in its share price.
