Independent record circulation 258,012

The London Independent, which launched a tabloid version last September, has recorded average daily ABC circulation for March 2004 of 258,012.

This represents a 15.3% increase year-on-year, the Independent’s best performance since 1995. Newstrade sales are up 22.7% year-on-year, the highest level since January 1998. Current market share for The Independent now stands at 11.6%.

Earlier this month, the Independent was named National Newspaper of the Year at the British Press Awards.
