Development plan ‘having little impact’

EMPLOYERS' body IBEC yesterday warned that current plans to develop the west of Ireland’s economy are having little effect.

Development plan ‘having little impact’

It said the National Development Plan (NDP) and the National Spatial Strategy (NSS) have had little impact on the development of the region. It added there is little information on how they will be implemented.

“The NDP is struggling to deliver projects of critical importance either on schedule or within budget. It is evident at this point that a number of outstanding projects under the NDP 2000 - 2006 need to be rescheduled and, where necessary, re-prioritised,” IBEC's west regional president Pat O'Malley said.
