IT ticketing system wins award

A TICKETING service from Aircoach, has won a coveted technology award.

The company picked up the BT-inspired IT award for travel and transport for their m-ticketing system allows passengers to pre-purchase and deliver coach tickets to their mobile phone.

Richard Fitzgerald, IT manager of Aircoach said: “The system has proved to be a huge success since its introduction a year ago, with uptake growing month on month.”

Mobile ticketing is a method of purchasing a fare to travel on Aircoach, the proof of purchase being shown on the user’s mobile telephone display. This system allows passengers to buy their tickets for any route using the internet, SMS text message or voice.
