O’Brien’s Digicel phone company in legal row

US mobile phone supplier Trans World Telecom said it has lodged a lawsuit against Digicel in the High Court in the South American country of Guyana.

Trans World alleges that Digicel was attempting to damage its business interests in South America. It claims that Digicel, which runs mobile phone services in eight Caribbean countries, was improperly recruiting Trans World employees from its subsidiary in Guyana (called CelStar) and in doing so it was obtaining confidential information and commercially sensitive materials.
