FEARS that four more years of George W Bush in the White House would damage US investment in Ireland have been played down.

The more direct threat is the passing into law of the Homeland Investment Act, believed to be just weeks away with Mr Bush set for four more years in the White House.

An IDA Ireland spokesman said, if enacted, the broad impact of the bill would be to suck US money back into the domestic market.
